DUSTIN BOWERS
Founder & CEO

Dustin Bowers, Founder of PLAEX™ Building Systems, began developing this innovative new product in 2017 in an attempt to find a solution to the insane amount of waste he saw in the building industry. With over 20 years of experience in many areas of the building process, from foundation to finish, Dustin has developed a patent-pending modular construction block building system that is zero-waste, no-cut*, reusable, and is almost exclusively made of recycled waste materials.

Kayla Cotton

Marketing Manager

Kayla Cotton holds a degree in Public Relations from Mount Saint Vincent University and has over 8 years of marketing experience. Her previous roles include managing communications for a travel agency, event planning & promotion for various radio stations, and coordinating various programs and communications at the Halifax Chamber of Commerce. Most recently, Kayla ran a yoga studio and wellness center where she used her marketing skills to actively organize events and promote her business around the community. Now, she is gratefully working to spread the awareness of PLAEX.

Matt Durnnian

CFO

Matthew Durnnian holds a degree in Commerce from Mount Allison University and has experience working as a consultant to multiple businesses across different industries, from designing and executing product launches to advising on capital financing campaigns.

Having a passion for environmental protection and renewable design, Matthew has previously worked with the Belleisle Watershed Coalition as well as the Nature Conservancy of Canada where he was exposed to the dire need to protect our wildlife and preserve their habitats by reducing waste through innovation. Knowing the financial barriers to achieving this, Matthew now ensures that PLAEX™ is on track to breach those barriers and deliver on their goals.

Nágila Almeida

Architectural Designer

Nágila holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from Universidade Paulista located in Campinas, Brazil. After relocating to New Brunswick in 2021, Nágila participated in PRUDE Inc.’s Newcomer Women Leadership Program and also the Skills Launch program by the YMCA of Greater Saint John. It was through these programs that she was able to connect with PLAEX. Her extensive knowledge and experience in architectural design make her an excellent addition to the team.

Steven Dorion

Human Resource Manager

Steven Doiron holds a degree in Business Administration with a major in E-Commerce, as well as a two-year accounting certificate from New Brunswick Community College. His time with the Federal Government of Canada has given him experience as a team leader, as well as being a staffing lead for multiple contact centers across New Brunswick. He is also passionate about film and video and has been a practicing filmmaker/videographer for over 15 years. Now with PLAEX, he is excited to use his staffing and HR experience to help the company grow and can’t wait to use his skills in film and video to show off the impressive and innovative PLAEX products.

Rish McGlynn

Facility Coordinator

An avid environmentalist and nature lover with a mild obsession with wild foraging, Rish is a mother and past business owner with a very extensive resume. From organic gardener, to prep cook, barista and server to construction labourer and sawyer/dogger, web design and content writer, Rish saw an opportunity to join a great team working to do great things. What better way to see an investment flourish than by working from the inside to see the dream come true?

Ousmane Nombre

Mechanical Technician

Ousmane Nombre holds a Bachelor's degree in Equipment Management and Maintenance from the International Institute for Water and Environmental Engineering (2IE) in Burkina Faso and a Mechanical Engineering Technologist Diploma from New Brunswick Community College (NBCC). He worked as a Machinist at Muraflex and as a Maintenance Technician at Dorel Industry in Montreal, Quebec. Moving to Moncton, his passion for mechanics and technology led him in his search for innovative and creative companies to meet PLAEX where he finds it great to implement his potential acquired during all his years of work and study and in the job market.

Todd Jeffries

Mechanical Technician

Since childhood, Todd has always been passionate about anything involving building and fixing. He took a great interest in electrical and mechanical work, which led him to a long-time career in the Alberta oil fields. There he was responsible for setting up camps, running plumbing and electrical lines, and other construction jobs. After 25 years, he decided it was time for a change. He is now thrilled to be helping to make a positive impact on the environment as part of the PLAEX team.
